Not if you start at the beginning. A0 assumes zero experience: it opens with how a spreadsheet is laid out and how to move around it, so the Basic course and the Full track are both built for someone who has never written a formula.
The Intermediate and Advanced courses are different: each one picks up where the previous stage ended, so they do assume you already have those skills. Every course card lists what it expects under Prerequisites, so check that before you buy.
An up-to-date browser (Chrome, Firefox or Edge) and an internet connection. There’s nothing to download or install. If you plan to study from a work computer, some networks block external sites, so we publish a list of required domains you can send to your IT team.

The curriculum runs across seven progressive levels. Each one builds directly on the one before, so you master the foundations before advanced tools unlock. A0–A2 is foundational, B1–B2 is intermediate, C1–C2 is advanced and automation.
With our own standard, the Standardized Excel Certification Model (SECM). A skill label only means something once somebody defines it, and on a résumé nobody has: it’s whatever the person writing it decided it meant. SECM defines exactly which skills each of the seven levels requires, so passing one is something an employer can actually check. It’s also why our course names are precise instead of vague: Intermediate is B1 and B2, with a published syllabus you can read before you buy.
Yes. Every level ends in a final exam, and passing it unlocks an official Ninja Excel certification. You download it and add it straight to your LinkedIn profile or resume, one per level you pass, so the Full track earns you seven. It’s our credential, not a Microsoft exam. It’s useful to an employer because our SECM standard states exactly which skills you demonstrated, instead of leaving them to guess how good you actually are.
Both start by explaining the concept. The difference is what happens next. In a video course, practicing is on you: you’re supposed to pause, rebuild the example on your own copy of Excel, and somehow spot your own mistakes. Here the exercise is the lesson. You get a real spreadsheet task in real Excel, the platform checks it the moment you submit, and it tells you why something is wrong.
